Designed for older adults, family members, and caregivers, this session transforms your perspective on everyday spaces. Participants will learn to identify common household hazards that contribute to falls, from lighting issues to furniture placement. The workshop emphasizes cost-effective modifications that significantly reduce fall risk without major renovations or lifestyle disruptions. Whether you're proactively planning for aging in place, supporting an older adult's safety needs, or recovering from a previous fall, this comprehensive session offers room-by-room guidance for creating secure living spaces. Caregivers will gain valuable assessment skills and communication strategies for discussing safety modifications with their loved ones while respecting independence and personal preferences. Topics Covered: • Identifying common household fall hazards in every room of the home • Cost-effective home modifications and safety equipment for fall prevention • Proper lighting strategies and removing tripping hazards throughout living spaces • Bathroom and stairway safety improvements for high-risk areas • Creating emergency response plans and communication systems for after-fall situations
